Understanding the Memogate Scandal in Pakistan

If you don't know what Memogate was then read this article.

In May 2011, a letter was written by Asif Zardari to American Admiral Michael Mullen. In which the Obama administration was asked for help against Pakistan Army and ISI. And in return the following was offered.

1. In the light of American recommendations, take action against all suspected generals who harbored Osama bin Laden or have relations with him and as a result of this action, immediate suspension of all senior leadership of Pakistan Army including General Kayani and General Pasha.

2. A new civil defense agency composed of America's favorite figures will be created to control the ISI.

3. Allowing US forces to conduct operations anywhere in Pakistan with the full support of the civil government.

4. The Civil Defense Agency will immediately hand over Ayman Azouhari, Mullah Omar and Sirajuddin Haqqani to the United States.

5. This new civil defense agency will shut down the ISI's "Section S" which aids and supports the Afghan Taliban, thus breaking the secret alliance between the Afghan Taliban and the ISI.

6. Immediate action against all Pakistanis wanted by India in connection with the Mumbai attacks and their extradition to India, including serving intelligence officers of the ISI.

7. Willingness to establish a joint framework with the United States to monitor Pakistan's nuclear program, in other words, offer to put Pakistan's nuclear program under American supervision and limit the nuclear program.

This post was disclosed by Pakistani businessman Mansoor Ejaz in one of his articles.
He claimed that the Zardari government had sought US help to rein in the Pakistan Army and eliminate the ISI. The reason for this is that the Pakistan Army has come to believe that the Abbottabad operation was carried out by the Americans at the behest of Asif Zardari. Therefore, the army is willing to revolt.

The creator of this post was Hussain Haqqani, the ambassador appointed by Asif Zardari, who prepared this post on the orders of Asif Zardari.

On 19 April 2012, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan requesting that Hasan Haqqani be brought back to Pakistan by Interpol as he had refused to return. Hussain Haqqani returned and an investigation into the matter was started after his resignation. Michael Mullen confirmed that he had received the message.

The Supreme Court under the chairmanship of Iftikhar Chaudhary investigated the matter and gave its decision on June 12. "The post was real and its creator was Hussain Haqqani who was guilty of betraying the interests of the country. It was Zardari's mistake to appoint Haqqani as ambassador.
The Supreme Court of that time showed two perfections.

The first is that Hussain Haqqani was allowed to go out of the country 15 days before the said decision, who started spewing poison against Pakistan again as soon as he reached America.

(Even now he remains the biggest opponent of giving F-16 aircraft to Pakistan)

The second is that on the basis of the evidences on which Hussain Haqqani was declared guilty of treason, the case of Asif Zardari was saved on the same evidences.

Hussain Haqqani was advocated by Asma Jahangir. She continued to accuse the judges of the court of partiality, but no contempt of court action was taken against her. Asif Zardari did not even file the reply in the court, severely criticized the Supreme Court and termed the letter as a mere piece of paper.

Today Hussain Haqqani was also taken down on national media against Imran Khan.
